- FAQ -Why do you pack these pants with white tissue paper?
- We pack these pants with white tissue paper to prevent the Oil Finish Cover Cloth from staining the Dry Finish Cover Cloth during storage and shipment.
- Why did you change these pants from Safari Cloth to Dry Finish Cover Cloth?
- For the first 3 years of production, we made our Style 1457 pants from Safari Cloth, with an Oil Finish Cover Cloth brush facing. During that time, we did not produce Dry Finish Cover Cloth, so Safari Cloth was the best choice. In June 2002, we changed the Safari Cloth to Dry Finish Cover Cloth because we felt the slightly softer feel of Safari Cloth would not be missed in a pant that was intended for rugged upland bird hunting.
- Why is my new Cover Cloth jacket a different shade of green than my older jacket?
- Each dye lot accepts dyes to a different degree, depending on fiber variations, harvest time, and processing. We feel that the difference you are seeing is an acceptable color range for our Cover Cloth.
- My new Oil Finish Cover Cloth garment feels very wet to the touch. Should I worry about the Oil Finish coming off and staining my clothes?
- Oil Finish Cover Cloth often does feel more wet to the touch than Oil Finish Tin Cloth, especially when brand new. Being a lighter weight fabric than Tin Cloth, Cover Cloth cannot absorb as much Oil Finish during the treatment process. This leaves some of the Oil Finish sitting on the surface, giving it a wet feel. Over time, Cover Cloth will lose the wet feel, as some of the Oil Finish evaporates. If the Oil Finish stains your clothes, you can easily remove it by machine washing or dry cleaning.
